The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has been actively identifying unsafe buildings, issuing evacuation notices, and enforcing demolition when necessary. Recent efforts include serving notice to residents of 15 buildings in Iponri Housing Estate and sanctioning contractors for illegal construction. The government’s goal is to promote safe renovations and collaborate with property owners to restore distressed buildings, reducing the need for demolition.
